Company Profile
Rox is a Perth-based Australian exploration company focussing on zinc-lead deposits, particularly deposits of the Mississippi Valley Type (MVT) and Sedimentary Exhalative Type (SEDEX).
Rox owns the Reward project tenement which covers 379km2 adjacent to the world class McArthur River zinc-lead deposit in the Northern Territory. SEDEX zinc mineralisation has been identified by Rox at the Myrtle zinc-lead deposit which is located just 17km south of the McArthur River zinc-lead mine in the Northern Territory. The McArthur River (HYC) zinc-lead deposit is one of the largest in the world.
At Myrtle, Rox has identified a potentially very large zinc-lead deposit with an Inferred Resource of:
-
37 million tonnes grading 4.2% Zn, 1.0% Pb at a 3% cut-off
Higher grade continuous zones of mineralisation are included in this resource such as:
-
15 million tonnes grading 5.5% Zn, 1.5% Pb at a 5% cut-off, or
-
8.2 million tonnes grading 6.4% Zn, 1.9% Pb at a 6% Zn + Pb cut-off
Myrtle is already in the top 10 SEDEX zinc deposits in Australia, and is probably the most significant zinc discovery of its type in Australia in the last 20 years or so.
Only a small portion of the prospective resource area has been drilled, and it is expected that the ultimate resource will be 3-4 times its current size.
Mineralisation at Myrtle is coarse-grained (majority >100 microns in size), so good metallurgical properties and recoveries are expected.
A scoping study has commenced for the Myrtle project. Similiar projects to Myrtle in terms of deposit size and grade, but in less developed parts of the world have recently achieved positive Pre-Feasibility results. Rox is confident that Myrtle will produce excellent economies once the necessary work has been completed.
